Timing of sport races
RFID technology (or BLE technology) allows to automate the process of knowing of athletes transit and make a real time ranking.
If we talk about Mountain Bike, or marathons, or again endurance races or car races, the chronometer is the common line, and often, the only thing that matters.
If in some disciplines it’s necessary to know the time in milliseconds, in other disciplines it’s enough know a precision expressed in tenths of a second, and it’s for these cases that RFID and BLE technology are perfect solutions.
RFID UHF passive technology, in fact, allows to automate the process of knowing of athletes transit (also at the various intermediate control points) and make a real time ranking, without waiting a long time after the race.
RFID technology is usually used in sport races where required reading distances are less than 6/7 metres and where the passing speed is less than 70/80 Km/h.
In order to make some examples, here below you can find some applications:
- Running races
- Cycling races
BLE technology, thanks to reading distances up to 10 meters, can work in sport events where is required a traceability on wide distances or on small closed circuits.
- Kart traceability
- Management of the passages of rally races (no timing)
- Management of the passages of classic car rallies
- Management of the passages of motocross
